This is one of those places that makes time stand still. In my opinion, it’s this kind of location that makes storytelling so easy because we don’t have to do much of the talking. Frolicking through the park, giggling, and chasing the sun– this session felt perfectly in line with Hailey & Brayden’s story. Both Washington state natives, this spontaneous evening felt authentically them.

Late in the season, trails closing for winter maintenance, and fall crowds at their peak– Rainier still has so much to offer. While I was location scouting the days before our session, I was getting nervous that we wouldn’t have enough room on the limited trail selection of the –just– the skyline loop. Taking the routes where the rest of the crowds melted into the horizon & out of sight gave us the space to be fully immersed in all that this national park has to offer & different angles than the norm.
Getting to spend time with my clients hiking, telling personal stories, and getting to know each other is always my favorite part of the job. It helps us loosen up and let the stress slip away. Just being in a moment with a stranger I just met– this is where my creativity thrives.
